THOMAS LEGASPI

Mr. Legaspi's artworks are derived from internal mediation of the subject matter at its essence, all the while keeping a heightened sense of visual aesthetics. He often projects a sense of an empirical inherent beauty, which is his imprint of positivity on his worldly perspective. The artist's figurative work often depicts figures in a conflict, a dilemma or an unresolved state reflecting his own penchant for investigating the dualities and ironies of human nature. Working primarily in representational imagery allows him to portray facets of the human psyche with an immediate palpable impact .

He has studied art  at St John's University, The Art Students League and The New York Academy of Art .  He also has been lecturing and teaching studio art as well as art history and art appreciation courses at various colleges and institutions for the last 15 years. He has most recently been exhibiting with the Dacia Gallery in The Lower East Side, New York City.
